About Mackay Music

 

Mackay Music was established in 1989 by the Burnett family, and funnily enough called Burnetts Music.

Trading out of a small corner shop with a shed out the back the Burnetts enjoyed great success for 11 years.

 Kelly and Ross Cacciola took the business over in 2000 and traded out of the same little store front, while

dealing in such brands as Maton, Beale, Ibanez and Peavey. Six years later they had outgrown the store and

moved into the main street of town  to much larger premises. Still continuing the great brands that everyone knows

 and trusts they expanded to include more high end brands such as Fender, HK audio and David Eden.

 

In 2007 the Mackay Music school was opened with lessons available for guitar, bass, drums, violin

and piano for students of all levels provided by experienced teachers.

 

With knowledgable and highly trained staff and a full time guitar repairer they then ventured into P.A. hire and

live sound for events such as the Mackay Rock Awards and the River to Reef festival in 2007 and keeping the local

 bands playing every week

with top quality equipment. Not even the great flood of 2008 could keep these guys down as the continued to trade

after having the entire shop flooded and losing 80 thousand dollars worth of stock.
